Our staff are educated to a high standard and we’re dedicated to the success of the children we teach. We each have different experiences and qualifications to ensure a rich, holistic and enjoyable learning environment for children.
I have almost 20 years’ experience in early years, having progressed from a student training for the HNC early years and education to working as a manager and graduating with a BA childhood practice. I have worked within local authority nurseries, partner providers and out of school services. I have three of my own children and an amazing stepdaughter. I am passionate about putting the theory of nurture and attachment into practice to support the children and families using our service.
— Cheryl Nicol, Nursery Manager
I have seven years’ experience working in Early Education and Childcare.
I joined the Stonelaw Preschool team in 2014 as a support worker and was awarded my SCQF level 7 SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) in March 2018, promoting me to the title Early Years Practitioner.
I love reading stories and discovering new science experiments with the children.
— Rosalind Black, Early Years Practitioner
I have been working in Childcare since 2014. I have an NC as well as a HNC qualification in Early Education and Childcare.
I gained valuable experience working as a key worker,
respite officer and Team Leader for the under-twos in a large nursery. I also worked closely with the Family Support workers offering respite to refugee families and children from troubled backgrounds.
I’m delighted to use that experience to encourage the children of Stonelaw Pre-school to reach their full potential.

I love working in childcare and enjoying creating a range of activities across the curriculum for the children to enjoy and experience in order to develop their learning.
— Erin Allan, Early Years Practitioner
I have been working in early years settings since 2010 and gained my SVQ level 3 qualification in 2012. I enjoy every moment of nursery life and I am passionate and committed to delivering high quality care for all the children at Stonelaw Preschool. I enjoy developing the play room and being able to offer the children experiences to enjoy and learn in a fun environment enabling them to reach their full potential.
What I love about the nursery is that we can use the great outdoors to our advantage and explore in completely natural surroundings in rain or shine! There’s just so much to learn about the world around us.
